Ritme
(2016 to present)
Musical project "Ritme" (eng. in the rhythm) is a synthesis of classical and contemporary art. Indian and Lithuanian artists met to combine the Indian tabla rhythms, jazz improvisations and classical Indian dance.

The rhythm is like a breath, like a heartbeat, which marks the way in our lifetime, which stands for continuously repeating cycle. After inhale, you have to exhale, before new beginning, there is the end.

Musicians and dancers from India and Lithuania with the help of music and movements are going deep in to the concept of pulse, which has many faces and forms, but which always leads to the rhythim as a structure, as a form. The idea is to comprehend this form and fill it up with the content.

First time the project was represented in 2016 at "MI" theater in Vilnius. After the great success and suport from Lithuania Asian Arts Center and Lithuanian-Indian Forum, in January of 2017, musicians Ieva Marija Baranauskaite, Rokas Beliukevičius and Stasys Šalaševičius were invited to come to Hiren Chate masterclass and Indian classical music festival "Saptak" in India, to deepen the knowledge of Tabla language. In September of 2017, Ieva Marija Baranauskaite invited Hiren Chate to come again in Vilnius. Here she managed another performance in the theater "House Of Puglu". Moreover she organised rhythm workshop for advanced musicians, where drummers, advanced jazz music performers, composers, vocalists and dancers had opportunity to improve their skills in the rhythmical field and to learn from Tabla master Hiren Chate.

The masterclass included following topics:
*The importance of rhythm for every advanced musician.
*The level of professionalism of a musician is determined by the perception of rhythmicity.
* Different ways to apply complex rhythmics.
* Basic understanding of rhythm concepts such as pulse, meter, etc.
* Constant pulse keeping in polyrhythmia
* Rhythmic models in 3, 5 and 7 meters.
* Improvisation and it's importance to all musicians.
* Tabl's language basics.
* The importance of mathematics in music.
* Creation of rhythmic structures.
* Indian classical music tradition
